Mad Hatter. I signed it and then it flipped it back. I forgot I had the canvas flipped when I signed it so ignore the signature. I just haven't had time to go back and flip it again lol.
Anyway, this is the second card in the deck we are doing for a project in one of my design classes. The Mad Hatter is the King card. It took me awhile to get his hair just right.
I like him better with the big nose and a little perverted looking, because he is not supposed to be attractive and he HAS to have the big nose and buck teeth. I saw pics of Johnny Depp playing him in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and as much as I am A HUGE JD fan, the only character who looks like they should from the story is Alice. The queen should be fat, but she isn't and the mad hatter is hawt and he shouldn't be. And like every Tim Burton Movie, they all look dead XD.
Ooh, LOVE him! He's absolutely perfect, especially the teeth; great job!
I know what you mean with Tim Burton taking everything, making it dead, and calling it good. Don't get me wrong, it certainly works sometimes, particularly in movies like Sleepy Hollow and Sweeney Todd. But I'm sick of people talking about Alice in Wonderland and thinking: "Oh, that's a Goth thing, right? We'll do it Goth." "Wait a tick, there are other-" "Nope. Doin' it Goth."
Don't get me wrong, I hold nothing against the Goth culture or variations of it; I just particularly like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland a bit much to see every recreation of it done 'in that style.' (Rimshot!) After all, it's supposed to be nonsensical, not depressing.
Anyway, great job again!

Yeah I don't know. I just see the mad hatter has looking rediculously weird and ugly and psychotic. Not hot Johnny Depp dressed like a dead corpes.
And like I said, the queen shouldn't be a thin little twig. SHES FAT AND UGLY. The only pretty character should be Alice, cus she was the only pretty character.
Its not out yet, it is in production, but it is supposed to be based of of Louis Carrol's version, but if that is the case then johnny depp IMO does not fit the part. I think he would do better in a version of American Mcgee's. Don't get me wrong. I loveloveLOVE johnny depp, I just don't think he looks the role and a lot of it is due to how Tim Burton makes his movies where everything literally looks dead.
You know, if anyone, Tim Burton is the person I'd like to take a swing at this crazy world, and Johnny Depp, though obviously not looking the part, is personality-wise a very interesting choice for the Madhatter. It won't be Lewis Carrol's Alice in Wonderland, though, just like American Mcgee's wasn't. It be even more interesting if he did a faithful adaption, but knowing Tim Burton he won't, it's both his pro and his con.
This is fantastic, and you're right; the Mad Hatter always looks best when seems a little creepy and you've captured it well. Not sure Johnny Depp's right to play him though, but I trust Tim Burton's judgement.
